Data Residency
Where Vidyasetu stores and processes your school's data, and how it is kept secure.

1.Where your data lives
Vidyasetu is built for Indian schools, and we host school and student data in data centres located in India. Keeping data in-country keeps it close to the schools we serve and aligned with Indian data-protection expectations.
2.Hosting and infrastructure
The platform runs on established cloud infrastructure with India-region deployments. Data is encrypted in transit and at rest, and infrastructure access is restricted to authorised engineers and logged.
3.Backups
We take regular, encrypted backups so that data can be restored after an incident. Backups are retained in the India region for the period set out in your school's agreement.
4.Sub-processors
A small set of sub-processors — for cloud hosting, push notifications, and analytics — supports the service. Each is bound by data-protection terms. Where a sub-processor function involves transfer outside India, we limit it to non-sensitive operational data and apply appropriate safeguards.
5.Cross-border transfers
Student academic records are not transferred outside India. Limited operational data (such as crash reports or aggregated, de-identified usage metrics) may be processed by global service providers strictly to keep the platform reliable.
6.Compliance
We design our data practices to meet applicable Indian law, including the framework for personal data protection. Schools needing a Data Processing Agreement or residency confirmation for procurement can request one using the contact details below.
